SS 2011 Hats for Writers
‘Hats For Writers’ Spring/Summer-2011
This is my literary inspired collection of hats for men and women. These designs are my synthesis of everyday hats worn by Utopian and Bohemian Poets, Novelists and playwrites from throughout history who I admire for their creative risktaking and uncompromising individuality. Each of these hats are made using free form blocking and an oragami-like construction technique which allows for the uniquely structured yet fresh take on these classic shapes. All of the writers I have chosen to name these hats after are modern characters in the way that each was working in a style that was against the conventional standards of the expectations of their time.
